Default CMS Historic Trans-Am Series - Starts Jan 14th! (Runs through Spring)

CMS Presents: Historic Trans-Am Series An 8 race series featuring cars from the golden era of Trans-Am racing. Big blocks and close racing is on display in this car and mod limited series. This series aims to replicate the Trans-Am Series as it was in it's early years, with modified versions of street cars at classic american tracks. There are many cars that fit into the Trans-Am theme in Forza and Mark Bell has done an excellent job at balancing these cars so they retain their vintage feel, while being closely matched in performance.

This page looks SUPER Aaron! I love that you choose the Jerry Titus TA for the pic. Not only is the car the name sake, but I loved building this livery. It was actually the first one built, and I love how close it turned out to it's real life counterpart. Visit here if you'd like to see how close many of these liveries are. And see some of the other liveries that inspired the rest. Historic Trans Am

Just last night Ongias25 from nogrip, as well as Tic Toc, Monkeyz PJP and Bomberman300ex had a pretty successful test of the cars and tracks. We had a blast. We tested several cars on many tracks. And I think tonights test race is going to go very well. With any luck many will show up. I even received a request to join our group from a guy who saw the promo at Isimracing.com I think it was. So already I think the response to this is building. I personally do not know the newest guy. But I will take responsibility for him. I have accepted his friend request and sent him a Xbox message briefly explaning the premise of this. So I will take responsibility for his driving if he turns out to be a car/wall banger. But I get the feeling he's a good guy. So I'm not sure if we should have a protocol for recruitment. Or if it's gonna be first come first serve. Should we request that everyone become a club member? Or should we just let those who wish join, and those who don't choose to participate as they wish? I think it will be fine to do it either way, but I'm feel an inclination to encourage clubmembership is said driver has not clubbed up yet. This will add to the diversity of our club, and perhaps should be encouraged. But perhaps does not need to be required as a little club rivalry could also be a very healthy thing.

I have made some minor adjustments to the setups for all the cars mainly tire pressure, and brake pressure. A bit of feedback received during last nights pretest concluded that wheel users may have trouble with brake lockup do to brake pressure setting which seem to work fine with a controller. I tested the adjustent on a couple of cars and the resultant lap times do not seem to be affected. So tonights test race can also serve to evaluate my adjustments. I believe these cars are well sorted, but there may need to be some minor tweaks to a car or two. So please, everyone, do not hesitate to give me feedback as soon as you're aware of it.

I am gonna get some sleep now, and than later today I will make some final adjustments to the lobby race setups. I will be all ready to go by 6:30pm Pacific U.S. time tonight.

sounds great Mark, If you can encourage any member that aren't currently registered here on the CMS forums to join us here, so that we can communicate with them here in this setting as well and they can stay up to date on the latest info. I always encourage them to register here and then fill out the brief new driver intro profile, so that we can get to know a bit about their background. I have also found that to help weed out knuckle heads. - David

    Thanks Mark!

It would be good to point new people to this thread so they can join in the main discussion here and sign up, but if he already saw it posted somewhere it should have the link to this page. And of course any un-clubbed are definitely welcome to join the club.

We seem to be developing an odd problem. I seem to have well over 16 friends now. I think I've collected 6 or 7 since yesterday. And one of them has already joined the CMS club. I'm not sure if all of the players in my friend list wish to run the TA series, but most of them do.

So the question becomes.... what do we do if we recieve more than 16 players wishing to run the series? Does anyone have an idea how to run a tournament series? Or do we just run two side be side TA races each weekend? And then have some sort of Final Chase style run with the top 16 points scorers to make a chase for the title?

We should have a rountable regarding this. Personally, I love the rapid response this series is getting. And I love how many are responding. I'm just unsure how this will work with only 16 players able to run a race at a time. Would the points structure need to be changed? Or do we just need to run double two heat races? Or should that change as well?

Perhaps I should send an Xmail to everyone, to announce their intent to run the series, at the signup sheet, this way we can get a full head count, and then we can go from there.
