Get it Tim, you won't be disappointed...however, you will lose a lot of time, as it is highly addictive. I am getting it for the PC!!!

Does anyone know where I can buy it at a national chain or online that will have it....Best Buy isn't carrying it, Circuit city isn't...WalMart and Amazon are saying it will ship Mid November, but I WANT IT NOW!!!!

Any ideas?

I'm out of the loop on consoles (last one I ever owned was an ATARI 2600 and Intellivision!). Do you guys have a regular Xbox 360, or the Elite version? Is the Elite worth the extra $100? I'm an idiot with this stuff in general, and if I got an xbox and hooked it up to my big HDTV, how could I set it up with online access to play? I have a Linksys router for my PC, but that's at the other end of the house, and not sure how well wireless works with xbox (I assume you then need to buy some $$$ add-0n?)

Anyway, I'm lost with Xbox and console stuff, but it's starting to appeal to me more, cuz I don't have the time, money or inclination to keep upgrading my PC and keep up with that end to play the latest games.

I don't have a 360, but have worked on them a bit. Wirelessly, there is about $100 wireless card, which snaps in place, and works well, with just a little tweaking, but it tells you what isn't working right better than Windows does. From what I understand, the $100 extra is what you want to go with, it had a headset, a bigger hard drive, and something else (I forget). That's the model what was selling out when they first launched it. As far as online, you need to get a subscription to XBox 360 Live, and with you current internet connection, you should be ready to rock.

That's about what I know, without having one.

Yes the Elite is worth it. It is all about the extra hard drive size (120 GB vs 20 GB in the standard) and it also has HDMI outputs and stuff in the Elite. Plus a few extra goodies! I got my Guitar Hero 3 today and we are already rocking! In fact as I type this I hear my wife playing "Talk Dirty to Me" by Poison ... lol -- now if I could just get her to do that to me more often!!! lol.
