    Default Star Trek: Legacy News...

I think you all know that I'm a big time "trekker", and whenever I see a new Star Trek game hitting the streets, I take a look just hoping it's the ultimate simulation of sitting in the captain's chair.

The next release coming later this Fall is called Star Trek: Legacy and spans the entire genre of Trek shows and movies...and has an added plus in this press release....

All Five STAR TREK? Captains to Voice

Rockville, MD ? August 14, 2006 ? Bethesda Softworks? announced today that all five actors who portrayed the STAR TREK series captains -- William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, and Kate Mulgrew -- will provide voiceovers in the STAR TREK: Legacy? video game. The collaboration marks the first time the five actors have participated in a single STAR TREK project together.

?I am delighted to have the chance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Trek with my fellow captains by providing our voices to STAR TREK: Legacy,? said Shatner. ?Bethesda Softworks has done an excellent job in creating an exciting game that stays true to Star Trek?s roots and accurately incorporates elements from each series.?

STAR TREK: Legacy is in development for both the Xbox 360? videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. STAR TREK: Legacy is scheduled to launch this fall under license from CBS Consumer Products. The STAR TREK franchise, which debuted with the Original Series in 1966, will celebrate its 40th anniversary this fall.

?We are absolutely thrilled to have the five actors who portrayed the STAR TREK captains take part in this project,? said Todd Vaughn, vice president of development, Bethesda Softworks. ?Their participation, especially since it takes place during the series? 40th anniversary, will add to the fun and excitement of the game and emphasizes our commitment to provide fans with the most authentic STAR TREK experience possible.?

Having just arrive only a little while ago I just saw this. Tim, I had no idea you were a trekker too! My wife and I are life-long trekkers and lately we've been watching the newly re-syndicated and digitally remastered original series, which they've done a great job with and includes all new special effects as well as updated music. Anyway it's great to see another racing-trekker.

It's hard to watch at first, but when you see that D.C Fontana and other ex-writers are part of the script team, the stories are very interesting.

Besides, it can't be that bad if they have a former Original Series actor playing in the next episode which comes out this week!!!

It looks like a strategy game...I hate strategy games and role playing games..I bought Bethesda's other big game "Oblivion"...thats got to be the dumbest game I've ever played.
Now!...if I could just fly the Enterprise around and shoot up some space monsters like "Doom" or "Quake"..I would buy this one in a minute
I'm more into the mindless shooter games
"Oblivion" would be better if I could have a plasma ray gun and wipe out all the village people
