    Default Step Brothers

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are officially the kings of the insipid comedy! Whoo hoo for them.

This one trick pony is a mind numbing hour and thirty-five minute long joke, that is only mildly funny at best. [SPOILER ALERT] , it's two forty-year old men acting like a couple of 10-year olds. If you like that sort of thing, well there is another ridiculous movie you'll enjoy called Dumb and Dumber. Of course seeing both movies would be completely redundant.

Then again, I would love to see Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels team with Ferrell and Reilly to create Dumb and Dumber versus Step Brothers. Kind of like Alien versus Predator, but with a twist. The four fight to the death in a cage that's filled with hungry lions. Ah to dream...but I digress.

I will admit, there are a few funny sight gags and not all the "sketches" fall flat, but in the end it becomes rather tedious. I could had done without seeing Ferrell wipe his balls on a set of drums, but what did I expect? It's Will Ferrell; the only comedian in a America that can make Larry the Cable Guy look intelligent.

Some of you will like this movie and I can respect that, although I will secretly judge you for doing so. Personally, I was disappointed...not surprised mind you, just disappointed. The Ferrell and Reilly combo has so much potential, but they just need a vehicle that isn't one long continuous joke. Here's to hoping for something better in the future.

They should have stopped with Talladega Nights.

I like Dumb and Dumber, used to watch lots of films with my daughter before she got married and moved to Nevada, and when the champaign cork turned those birds into feathers cracked us up.
I really like many goofy movies, but Will Farrel doesn't hit my funny bone very often.
I like things like Uncle Buck, Sixteen Candles when my daughter was still around. My all time favorite is Hollywood Knights, which reminds me of the kind of car clubs I grew up with in the 55-60's, Rock & Roll, dragging Main St w/chicks, drive-ins. Good cast, all grew up to be known actors.
