I obtained a "ahem" copy of Tropic Thunder this morning and I was a little surprised at just how funny this movie was. It's funny, ironic, stupid when necessary, and really one of the better movie parodies I've seen in a very long time. Cast features some pretty heavy hitters; Ben Stiller, Nick Nolte, Tom Cruise, Matthew McConaughey, and Jack Black, but Robert Downey Jr. absolutely steals every scene he's in and this movie is worth watching just for his character alone. The movie does have a few dry areas, where the story lags a bit, but it's not too slow, and it found myself laughing out loud. Hell, even the mock preview is hilarious.
