    Default Formula Mazda - sweet!

I bought and tested the Formula Mazda on Road America last night as I survived class D licensing with 3.91 SR and should be able to get into the Mazdas after a race or two more in the Solstices (advanced). I was a little worried as after buying the Skippy I really felt like I wasted 15 bucks. Those cars feel like twitchy go-carts and I hated them. (For crying out loud, put in try-before-buy iracing!) After testing the Mazda...

SWEET! Car feels really nice and should be a blast to drive. Really looking forward to racing these.

What are y'all's (yooze guy's for you Northerners) thoughts on them?

man I really would like to try iracing and have been on there list for a month now?
I'm about ready to give up on iracing. The CMS league is a whole lot a fun and I can drive a P1, P2, Gt1, and Gt2 car for free at the ring that looks almost exatly like a real lap!!!
Plus I like the crew over here! A little serious but for the majority still a whole lotta fun!

I hate the Skippy as well. I feel like it teaches me bad habits because it has an open diff and will spin if you get out of the throttle. The Formula Mazda and Radical must be driven deep into the corner and the skippy teaches you to be very shy on entry. At Infineon I am forced to brake while at full throttle to get through the esses without spinning the damn thing. I don't really like the Skippy but I must admit that it is quite challenging, and it can be rewarding when you get it right.

The Formula Mazda and Radical drive like true racecars and are the most fun to thrash around the road courses.

I do have to say, when I was a beta tester for iRacing, the skippy cars literally shocked me at how accurately the handled compared to the real life thing. the skippy cars in the game handle EXACTLY like they do in real life! it was INSANE! dunno about the Radical or the Star Mazda, though.

It is possible to skip the Skippy by attaining 4.0 in class D in the Advanced Solstice (or reg solstice) and now in the new Advanced Legends road course series and then "racing up" in the Mazdas. You will still advance to class C "racing up".

I actually got my Skippy refunded as I had only raced it ONE time.
