Sounds like you'll get to spend a fair amount of money to get to the higher rankings. It does look very good, but $15 for a new car and $15-25 for another, it will add up, not all at the same time but over time you pay a fair bit. If sim racing is your passion I think it may be worth the cost. But I don't think I will go with it, especially since I'm only on ISDN. I don't want to spend 3 days downloading something

To quote a 'commenter' on another site.

iRacing is the scientology of sim racing. You gots to pay more to 'really' believe...

$160 a year + $350 to rent a seat in all the cars and a pit stall at all the tracks.

"Honey, Don't worry, it's less than 50 cents a day per year and those cars and tracks, when amortized over the length of my sim racing career, cost mere fractions of a cent... And as I'm approaching this from a 'simracing' point of view, don't you think it appropriate that I get the ECCI 600 GTS and one of those custom sim racing cockpits... And I'll need to get a new racing computer too..."

I may be a total sucker but this sounds like a blast to me. That video just about sold me on the sim. I wish I had spoken up when you posted David. If anyone else in the beta has an extra slot to hand out I would gladly use it for you!

Ricky send a PM to Bruce Fisher and/or John Basara and see if they can get you in on an invite to iRacing. I am also planning to continue racing there as I think it's kind of cool

i have been reading up on iracing for a while and holy this show really sealed it for me. Its exactly what i have been looking for, its like your own pace, and racing with people in your own level. gives you an incentive.... very intriguing!! thanks for the video!

Once they offer some sort of way for groups to run private race on iRacing I plan to setup a group for us at Champion to race together. Should be fun and a nice change of pace ...

I remember the informal Tuesday night GPL races on VROC way back in the day. That was pretty cool. We'd all just login to VROC and run 4-5 races on various tracks for the night. No points or anything like that. What iR needs is a chat thing like VROC IMO.
