Would it do me any good to buy the late model car? Since I am just starting would I be able to even drive it yet??

You can practice 'offline' with any car you buy. You just can't race it with others on the track until your license is high enough.

Also Ricky it wont take you long to get your skills high enough to where you can run the late model. A week or two max.

Just ran my first time trial and race in the 34 Coupe and I have to say I am very impressed with the interface and racing system. Don't know much about the cars yet but the actually "getting in the race" interface is pretty cool. There were 160 people entered in the 9 PM race at the track and about 80 or so were in the pre race chat and there was an IRacing rep in there and he was very professional and helpful. He was voice chatting. It broke us up into groups of 12 since we are all rookies. lol He said as we advance that the fields will be bigger.
I do wish there was a way to join people you knew but maybe in the future that will be an option. All the people I know are way faster than me so maybe I am better off being put with people of my own skill level.

Cool Ricky. Tim Coliler, Wes, Bob Dunlop and I are about to run the 10pm CST Solstice Race at Lime Rock. Also Ricky I added you as a friend I think you were listed as Eric Proffer is that right?

I bought the Late Model car but it will only get to about 100 mph and redlines in 4th when I am testing? Is that it until I get a better licence or am I missing something?

Ricky I think you just need to load a late model setup. I know you are in Texas so you should be in the South Region Member forums along with Tim Collier and I. You should be able to see them at this link

    http://members.iracing.com/iforum/forum.jspa?forumID=35

I would look through there and get a Late Model setup to work with. They go into your My Documents \ iRacing \ Setups Folder under the applicable car. Hope that helps.
