    Default My 1rst Skippy Race!

I ran my first Skip Barber car race at VIR today and what a hoot!
I started dead last (12th) and made my way up to 5th against a bunch of "D" license guys.. Yahoo!
The Skip Barber cars are allot more fun than the Solstice IMO.
I have a Solstice at work and it drives just like the one in the game...dog doo
    What a piece
    Anyway..David, thank you again,having a ball!

Awesome Bob! Yes the Skippy is a very fun car to drive. iRacing is a great simulation, no two bones about it ... congrats on the great finish.

Bob, can you post your setup for these skippys (spring offset, camber, whatever)?

I don't really like how the rear wheels tend to get dragged around on turns due to the short wheelbase. I'm trying to learn to smooth my driving after having to coax the rear end of the Sostice around corners. I'm not that big a fan of the Skippy yet, but I'm sure the racing is much better now that everyone can relax about their damned Safety Ratings and just drive as compared to the tip-toeing (or idiocy) inherent in the Solstice Rookie league. It will probably be fun though to go back and race the Solstice without having to worry about every bump and offtrack now that I'm securely above 4.

Hope to see you in a Skippy race boys!

BTW, the physics of Iracing is pretty damn amazing. I wouldn't have thought there would be that much of a jump from GTR2, GTL, rFactor, ect, but I REALLY do feel almost like I'm driving my own car around these tracks (without the G-forces, of course). Maybe its the laser-mapped tracks with subtle bumps and rises or maybe they just found a breakthrough in physics modeling due to all that money they expect from the pricey (but well worth it so far) subscriptions. Whatever it is, its pretty sweet.

Oh, and its pretty neat to see "Dale Earnhart, Jr" and other famous racers in the same series as you. I saw where Sanderjee, one of the VOR racers, was in the same Solstice race as Dale Jr. Must have been interesting.

The tracks are what I am most impressed with so far. They are very well done. I don't know enough about driving physics to tell if they are any good or not but I do know that the cars are fun to drive.
Unless Jr. has someone else driving for him he was up almost all night after the Daytona race on Iracing. lol
