Default Oh So Close ... (iRacing Las Vegas Trucks)

Devin O'Brien and I were in a Truck race this weekend over at iRacing at Las Vegas ... it was fun. Unfortunately for Devin he was fast and qualified up front, but it was a bit wild at the beginning of the race and he was caught up in some stuff and ended up DNF. I took a strategy to hang back for a while and see what I could do at the end. Made my move with about 10 to go and if there was only one more lap -- dangit! Finished 2nd, here is a shot from the leaders bumper, I needed one more lap

Eventually I'll get one of these, those of you racing at iRacing know that they sure as heck ain't easy to win that's for sure.

BTW, I was using the Advanced Truck setup for VEGAS, zero changes. I think I could go up a click on the gear and it would have a little extra on the straights which could make the difference -- I learned that you really can't go flat out in the corners in this truck, you need to lift every so very slightly in the corner to keep it low -- and that really lets you power it off.

Good job David! I am going to enter some of these this week. Fun track. It is kinda like Daytona though so I hope to miss all the big ones. The Skippy at Lime Rock is fun too!! I think I will concentrate on these two this week.

Awesome David! I can't wait to run some laps at Vegas this week. I also use the advanced setups with a tiny bit of tweaking. Congrats on your podium finish!
