Default What's Up With The Tire Model

I know iRacing is a good sim and I like it, but what is up with the tire model? At least on ovals, you can not use tire temps to accurately make adjustments. This is the most fundemental data point and they have it totally screwed up. What's worse is it is a known issue on their forum and no one knows when/if they are going to fix it. They want to be top notch, they have to get this fixed.

Rob, I am not sure when this will be fixed. There is a recent thread on the message board over there that has alot of the updates that they are planning on getting done before the next update. Spotters, local yellows on road courses, being able to join practice sessions in progress are some of them.

Hey guys I have a question regarding iRacing. If I get damage in a race, and come into the pits will my crew fix it or is the only way to get rid of it to do the Shift-R?

Pit crew is in the works I believe David. I think the only way to fix it is to reset. I am not sure if you lose a lap if you wait til you pit to reset or not. I think the best way to reset if get past your pit stall on the track and reset.

    loosing a lap
All depends where you do the shift - R at.
Say for example you get taken out at T1 if you do a shift R right there you start back in the pits and you loose the time it takes you to get back to T1

Now say you crash on the last turn and cant make it to the start/finish and do a shift R you basically loose that whole lap.

Sometimes you will see somebody limp accross the start/finish and they will go their shift R right then this way they really only loose the time it takes to get out of the pits.
This is how it has been explained to me but I have not actully kept track so I cannot say I'm 100% positive this is how it works
