    Default Troubleshooting W.I.F.E 2.0

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I think I may have missed a patch or something. W.I.F.E. 2.0 doesn't seem to be able to multi-task anymore, constantly interrupts me with unscheduled events, and won't allow me to run my desired programs. I would really like to reformat, but I'm currently running K.I.D. 1.1 and 1.2 at the moment, so that's pretty much out of the question. Back in the day when I ran W.I.F.E. 1.0, I was also running G.F. 1.3 as well. That was fine for awhile, but both were rather bugging and really unstable, so I was forced to upgrade. Of course in this economy, I really can't afford to upgrade to W.I.F.E 3.0 at this point and I'm not sure I even want to.

    Any advice?

I'm sure you can find 3.0 on a torrent somewhere.

I have been running W.I.F.E. 1.0 for 35 years now and the best thing to keep it from getting buggy was the Hobby 1.2 pro painting program. It has been a relatively expensive program with a great many add ons that included program specific trips and extra hardware. It seems that W.I.F.E. 1.0 needs only minimal tech support from myself to keep it operating smoothly and because of that I don't mind taking it along whenever I travel on the Uranus Bus. I recently spent 5 days at the Petit Lemans and 1.0 ran flawlessly, producing painted products that I would proud to display in my home. Hell, it would even monitor D.O.G. 8.1 while I was out taking photograghs.

Another important albeit expensive add on was the S.H.e Loves New Technology program. 1.0 is very demanding when it comes to accessing new devices, such as laptops, high end digital cameras, Iphones, Mac Airs, signal amplifiers, Blu Ray Players, PVR's etc. The redeemng part of the SLNT program is that it has allowed W.I.F.E. 1.0 to become extremely proficient in setting up computer networks and PC hardware.

Now if you find your version of the W.I.F.E. does not have the talent for the Hobby 1.2 painting program, Hobby also produces a myriad of other alternatives, such as gardening 1.0 which comes in both basic and pro versions. I have uesd both or perhaps Doll House 1.1 would be of use.

Don't get me wrong, it is not all sweet, W.I.F.E. 1.0 did require me me to install several versions of Landscaping Pro and Fix It Pro, both of which can require a considerable amount of attention, but not that bad if you monitor them early in each season.

    Troy, I hope this helps.

Be careful when installing gardening. Be sure to use R.A.K.E.

just do like you would to an old nes cartridge. pull it out, blow on it, and shove it back in. should do the trick. if not, bash the side of the case a few times. a reformat is very time consuming and purchasing a new system is way too costly.

are you kidding!?!? i tried to send mine back to the manufacturer (i even had the reciept!) and they told me, "we spent over 24 years making that product for you. we don't want it back, we don't need it back, and besides, we've allocated that product's assembly area to our home theater 1.0 development."

Make sure your running the latest drivers for optimum performance. You can find them at chaching.com or try blingbling.com. I hope this helps.

Apparently Greg was right. I wasn't using the latest updated drivers. Diner, a movie, and a visit to blingbling has temporarily corrected the situation. Some how...I doubt that it is a permanent fix.
