CMS North American LeMans Series (NALMS) 2012 Season Schedule and Series Details.
Welcome to a brand new North American LMS season! We've made a couple of changes for the 2012 season including a new qualifying format, so make sure you read this post carefully.
The NALMS will utilize rFactor 1 and the Endurance Series SP2 mod from EnduRacers for this season. With the release of rFactor 2 pending, once available it too will be evaluated at the appropriate time.
Before competing in the CMS NA division there are a few things you need to do:
1. You must visit the 2012 season signup thread and signup for the series.
2. You must visit the SLS system data base and register for the series.
3. You must visit (and read) the CMS General rules and regs thread.
Also, Brian put together this great quick start guide for the World Division, which is applicable to the NA division too and is a recommended read.

We will run one multi-class series. The classes available are LMP1, LMP2, LMPC, GT1, and GT2.
NOTE: With the recent release of Endurance Series SP2, the new Oreca will be our LMPC and the Courage will be classed and scored as LMP2.
This year we will switch to a "split" qualifying format. Qualifying will last 30 minutes, with the GT cars qualifying during the first 15 minutes, and the LMP cars during the second 15 minutes. A driver may finish a hot lap if he crosses the start/finish line BEFORE the 15min remaining mark. Otherwise he MUST exit the track as soon as the 15min remaining point is reached. This will be STRICTLY enforced with violations resulting in progressive penalties up to exclusion from the event.
You are strongly encouraged to choose a class/vehicle that you wish to run for the season and stay with it. You will be allowed ONE change of vehicle within a class, and ONE change of class per season, period. No changes are allowed after the half way point of the season (race 5). All vehicle and class changes must be approved by the series admin PRIOR to joining the race server with your new vehicle or class. Request must be made thru a PM to your series admin.
Races are held on alternating Thursdays at 9:05 p.m. Central (US) time. Apart from a couple special cases, all events are 90min in length, and you must complete 70% of race distance to score points. The schedule will include tracks from the real-life 2012 ALMS schedule, along with additional North American and international tracks.
