Default CMS 2012 World division Master post!

CMS World Division schedule and series details.

    2012 season

Hello and welcome to the CMS World division! The 2012 season will be broken into 2 short 10 event “mini seasons”, 2012 seasons 1 and 2. We will begin 2012 using the rFactor 1 platform and the Endurance Series SP2 mod. However with the release of rFactor2 looming, we will migrate to rFactor2 as soon as it is feasible to do so. (full season schedule below)

Before competing in the CMS World division there are a few things you will need to do.

    1. You must visit the 2012 season signup thread and signup for the series.
    2. You must visit the SLS system data base and register for the series.
    3. You must visit (and read) the CMS General rules and regs thread.
    4. I also highly recommend reading this "Quick start" guide to racing in the World division.

    Required Downloads
    rFactor or rFactor Lite
Endurance Series SP2 (full version) OR Endurance Series SP2 Patch (Brings your SP1 with 1.1 patch up to SP2)
    CMS ES 2012 Skins "B"

    Optional Downloads
rFactor Spotter plug-in with CMS driver name pack
    TeamSpeak Chat Client

All races will be "multi class" format with all classes racing on track together. The classes available are, LMP1, LMP2, LMPC, GT1, and GT2.

Note: With the release of Endurance Series SP2 there are now 2 additional cars available. In GT1 the Lamborghini, in LMPC the Oreca. Please be aware that the Courage will now be scored in LMP2 class, and the Oreca is now the LMPC. You may still drive the Courage, but it will be scored as LMP2.

Qualifying: We will use a “split” qualifying format with qualification lasting 30min. The GT cars will qualify for the 1st 15min, followed by the LMP cars for the 2nd 15min. A driver may finish a hot lap if he crosses the start/finish line BEFORE the 15min remaining mark. Otherwise he MUST exit the track as soon as the 15min remaining point is reached. This will be STRICTLY enforced with violations resulting in progressive penalties up to exclusion from the event.

You are encouraged to choose a class/vehicle that you wish to run for the season and stay with it. You will be allowed ONE change of vehicle within a class, and ONE change of class per season, period. No class changes are allowed after the half way point of the season (race 5). All vehicle and class changes must be approved by the series admin PRIOR to joining the race server with your new vehicle or class. Request must be made thru a PM to your series admin.

Races are held on Sundays at 8:05pm UK time zone / 9:05pm CET time zone / 2:05pm Cent US time zone. All events are 75min in length, and you must complete 70% of race distance to score points.

    Driver Briefings:
Driver briefings are posted prior to each event, and list Orange Zone details and track download links. ALWAYS DL the track from the link in the driver briefing, as this will be the version loaded on the server. Driver briefings are REQUIRED reading, and it is recommended to check them just prior to a race.

    Race review and penalties:
The race review team will review the OZ after each race, as well as review any incidents for which an incident protest was filed, and asses any penalties as appropriate. The results of these reviews will be posted no later than one week before the next event. All drivers are required to read the race review/penalty thread before the upcoming race so that they will be aware if they are required to serve any penalties. Any driver receiving a penalty will also be notified via PM.
