I am watching seems like this sim has lots of promise. Does anyone know if it's based on ISI engine?

It is David. I was at the Performance Racing Industry show last weekend in Orlando and ARCA/ReMax had a booth with about 6-8 sims setup running their sim and after trying it I'm convinced this is a big step up from N2K3. I talked with the owner of NRT Servers(can't remember his name)and he showed me all the different features of ARCA Sim Racing. The most impressive thing to me was the admin panel, it was amazing what you can control and how easy it is to do so. All commands can be set up with hot keys so that the admin can race and control everything.
As for the sim, I ran 45 laps at Kansas and the track temp went from 115 degrees to about 135 about 3/4 of the way through the run and I kept noticing the car would get looser in some areas of the track and tighter in others. I started moving up the track in 3-4 and ran the bottom in 1-2 and my lap times started to stablize. I enjoyed those 40 plus laps as much as anything I've done in sim racing in a while(which isn't much). It's not super hard to drive but it takes some getting use to. It feels heavy, bulky but very racey. YOu can scrape the wall just a tad but it doesn't drop off in your lap times. I actually poped the wall pretty good one time and their was actually a noticable change in the way it drove but not so much in the lap times.
I'm not sure how they had the features set but the graphics were awesome but I was playing on a 42" monitor, thats a must have.
Anyway, just wanted to give you some feedback on this sim. I hope when it comes out we can run it here at Champion.
Very cool Jeff. Thanks for posting this info. I am going to move this thread out of the news section and over to the main forums so we can discuss it further. I watched the race last night and it was pretty cool. I definitely would like to run some races in this when it's out. Did they give you any indication of a release date?
David
