Default NetKar demo - great drive - lousy UI

I tried out NetKar today. I like the driving. it feels really good.

But their UI absolutely sucks. I mean there are buttons on the screen that doesn't seem to work even though they light up when you press them but nothing happens. I couldn't even figure out how to change the damn tires after a stint, or to fix damage and i am not in Full Mode.

Has anybody else tried this out and figured out how to do these things?

I figured out how change the tires when you are not in the game. I find it completely strange that from one test day to another, I have to remember to put on fresh tires.

I also find the lack of a pause button completely annoying for those moments when the wife calls on the phone from work and I don't want her to know that I am at home racing.

But, man, the driving is great.

There are a bunch of buttons on the steering wheel, but it doesn't seem like you can map those to buttons on your wheel. Am I missing something?

And yes, I did read the manual.

Greg after you run for a while and you want to change tires simply hit ESCAPE, and select to go to your BOX or Pit and your setup menu buttons will appear. go to the area to mount tires and click mount Fronts and Lefts and you'll get new tires. You also have to do the same thing to refuel the car. It is a different approach for sure, in that you have to control everything you want done to the car, the sim assumes nothing. For instance if you go run laps then quit then come back the wear on the tires is still there until you select to mount new ones ...

I agree the Physics are Awesome and the Multiplayer seems solid as well. Feel free to connect to the CMS server that I put up ...

I just found out what the problem is. They have a huge bug for us Triple Head users. All the hot spots of the UI are located on the center screen, but the UI elements (the buttons and tabs) are drawn stretched across the entire screen. So, I couldn't get it to go to the tires tab because I was clicking on my left monitor where the tires tab was drawn, but it wasnt hitting the hot spot!

Now that I have figured that out, I can sort of figure out where to click to get the UI to work.

The other problem I had at first was that the batteries in my wireless keyboard were shot and so it was only getting sporatic key presses. This makes the game feel very haphazard and non-responsive. I couldn't get the car to fire up with the backspace key for instance.

Oh, I just realized that all the hot spots are wrong. Even the starter button hot spot is wrong. I was getting the car to shut off by clicking on the AIM window on the steering whee. I was wondering why it was doing that!
