Oval/Roadcourses...
So, After running Daytona and Indy, I started tinking about other Ovals that have roadcourses that are used for Sports Car events...and the first two that came to mind were California Speedway and Homestead-Miami.
I looked on Google Earth and the tracks definitely have road courses in the infields, with California's looking REALLY interesting.
I know Phoenix has one as well, but didn't get a shot of it...then I went to Texas.
David, do they run Road Course events using the infield where the RV's are parked during oval events? Looking at the blackened areas on the infield roads, it looks like braking zones for turns....check out the attached pictures.

Tim, yes they have Road Course Races at TEXAS on the infield road course. Primarily SCCA stuff. They had a big American Lemans Series race there about 4 years ago as well. The Panoz Racing school also has a large operation at TMS and they use the roadcourse quite a bit.
