    Default Track Feedback...

OK guys, I've decided to stop on Watkins Glen and see if we can dress up Indy or Road America first before the upcoming races....

So, tonight I will make a version of Indy available for download that will not overwrite the version already installed on your machines. Then I'd like each of you to take some laps around it and tell me what you want changed, and why. I really need some input, as I can't see to focus on all the changes at once.

No biggie Ron, first of all I didn't have the track ready until just now!!! Whew, what a day!!

Second of all, take your time, look around, and be honest!!!

I have uploaded the file to Rapidshare, and you can download from this link:

    http://rapidshare.de/files/14483552/...eta11.rar.html

Now, there's a couple of things I already know about, such as limited TV camera angles...but point out anything and everything.

Also, I haven't touched ANY of the logos on the walls, grass, banners, bridge, etc...and that's my next goal. But tell me what else needs to be fixed or "enhanced".

Oh, and enjoy the track...I think it drives nice!!!

Oh yeah...one very big thing everyone needs to do...and it doesn't hurt anything, actually it helps on every track on run on to make sure no material/collision surprises pop up...

In your .PLR file (found in your rfactor/UserDate/(yourname) folder), open the file with NotePad or WordPad, and scroll down. About 6 lines above the section heading for Game Options, you'll find the following line:

    Always Rebuild HAT="0"

Change the zero to a one, and that's it!!!

So now it should read Always Rebuild HAT="1"

If you want to know what this does, I'll be more than happy to tell you, but not right now...I'm tired and heading to bed...

Awesome Tim!!! I assume you figured out what was causing the frame rate issues? Was it the shadows? I will do some testing of it tonight and give you some feedback. I have a dinner thing at my Mom's tonight so wont be home until about 9, but if you want to look for me on ventrilo to test the track and stuff I should be there by 9:30-10pm ...

i will also make the plr file change ...

    Thumbs up

Great job Tim, your wor is very nice. The track drives great. The graphics look very good. My frame rate stayed in the 60s most of the time.

    I have two points:

    1. I have always had a tough time determining a breaking point on front stretch going ito first turn. There are no markers to give you any idea. Some type of markers there would be great.

    2. I have always had a tough time getting a breaking point as you go under the Potenza Bridge(not sure If I spelt it right). Some breaking markers there would also be very beneficial.

Us old guys need those markers.....hard to see at my age...
